This page is absolutely packed with SO much information, so don’t feel overwhelmed – I wanted to create a page where I explain my thoughts about each type of session and why I love doing what I do (and it turned into this massive page of me rambling haha!). I also encourage you to contact me about anything – maybe you want a session nursing in nature and I didn’t mention it here? Maybe you want a mommy & me session? Just because it’s not here doesn’t mean I don’t have ideas about it (wink wink). I hope this page helps you understand what I’m all about, and I hope you’ll find what you’re looking for.

Lifestyle newborn photography is what inspired me to learn and take up photography as a career, and they hold a very special place in my heart. These photos are taken during the first month of a baby’s life – the sooner the better, with 2 weeks being the ideal age. These photos are not those super-posed shots where the baby lies on a beanbag wrapped in a soft blanket and is peacefully asleep, or where a baby is placed inside a wooden box filled with soft cotton or a furry rug – nope. Lifestyle newborn photography is completely un-posed, it’s raw, it’s emotional, it’s natural and it’s a slightly polished representation of your real life. I will come to your home, you will be dressed in comfy neutral colors, I will walk around and find the rooms with the best light, and I will capture you living your life in that magical light – completely natural and in your element. Life isn’t a studio, life is filled with beautiful imperfections that give texture and depth to our existence, and bringing a newborn baby into our world is a magical experience that I want to capture in the most natural environment. There will be laundry in the corner, there might be dishes in the sink, there might be a big brother who’s not interested in having his photo taken – the mess of real life. However, there will be love, there will be cuddles on the bed, there will be a moment when mama kisses that little person’s forehead and there may be older sisters twirling in their flowing skirts in the kitchen – there will be life. My purpose as a lifestyle photographer and as a storyteller is to capture those little moments and shine that magical light on them.

Fresh 48 photos are, just as the title suggests, photos taken within the first 48 hours of your baby’s life in the hospital. These photos are very dear to me as a photographer and a mother – I get to witness the very first hours of a tiny human’s life, I get to sniff that newborn baby smell of sweet and sour milk, I get to see a mama holding her whole world in her arms for one of the first times, I get to take photos of a completely new life – that’s amazing to me! This type of session is a very good alternative for lifestyle newborn photos and is aimed to capture the essence of a newborn within the hospital. These sessions are slightly harder to plan ahead, but if you make sure to keep me posted regarding the due date we can definitely make this sweet baby magic happen. I always make sure to bring a few simple and elegant accessories with me – a few organic sheets, a few swaddling blankets, several tiny baby hats, so don’t worry about those.

Babies! Can you imagine my face when I say “babies!” – yeap, I’m that fond of them. I define babies as tiny humans who are between 1 month and 12 months, or pretty much until they start walking, which is when they become toddlers/kids. Photographing babies is always so unpredictable and that’s part of the fun – they chew on everything, they drool, they pull at any pet tail around, they pee in an arch when you try to take a photo of their cute little bum, and they can get away with anything once they flash that toothless grin and make that “who me?” face at you. My favorite time to photograph babies is at 4 marks – 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and 1 year. I feel like those milestones are important to capture – at 3 months you have a tiny human who is so soft and so curious on his round little tummy, at 6 months that little person is already almost sitting up and is maybe even able to grab your flip-flops and chew on them when you don’t notice, at 9 months you have little hurricanes crawling (or maybe even walking) so fast that you might miss them if you blink, and at 12 months you have little people who have been earth-side for an entire year and that calls for balloons and cakes! You know what makes me happy around babies? It’s so simple – babies are always happy…how can you not be happy looking at those toothless faces?! Gimme all them babies!

I have a question for you – have you noticed that every page on my website has a different Dr. Seuss quote? Haven’t noticed? That’s cool, I’m not mad…you can still scroll through and read them all haha. Now you’re probably asking why I have those quotes here, and the answer is pretty simple – there is no greater or better life-couch than Dr. Seuss…there really isn’t! Do you know why I think so? Because in his books children are treated with respect, they are taught kindness, and they learn lessons regarding real life and the hardships that come with it. That sums up my attitude toward children, my own and others’ – I treat children with respect, I try my best to get to know them in the short time we meet, and most importantly is that I always let them be themselves. I bet you’ve heard the phrase “let them be little”…well exactly, let them be little. Look at my gallery below; do you notice a common element? It’s all natural and un-posed! A little girl might show me her favorite princess book, a little boy is going to climb the highest ladder in the playground, two brothers might be dressed as superheroes on a regular Wednesday afternoon, and I might catch that big kid over there doing his homework while being way too busy/cool to get his photo taken – that’s what candid storytelling is, and that’s what I’m here to capture. So, let’s let them run around, explore and play.
Milk-bath photography is my soft spot, and every time I see milk-bath photos my heart skips with joy (cue in cliché girly squeals) – I have a real weakness for the creamy soft liquid sprinkled with brightly colored flowers or fresh herbs. I absolutely love the combination of milky liquid surrounding beautiful pregnant bellies, or tiny babies softly floating between fresh blooms…it really does feel magical. This type of photography is relatively difficult to achieve and there is quite a bit of preparation before the sessions, but when done properly the sessions are usually quick and seamless. If you are interested in this type of session, make sure to contact me for more information (hint: you don’t have to have a bathtub to achieve milk-bath photos!).
Maternity photos always make me so happy – seeing the excitement of a couple before they become a family, seeing soon-to-be big brothers and big sisters who are unable to contain their excitement, seeing a tiny toddler gently hugging mama’s tummy and resting for a moment – I live for these precious moments. And I truly believe that pregnancy is a beautiful miracle – mama, can you for a second just imagine that there is an extra beating heart/s in your body? That you are carrying a human being inside that tummy? I’ve been pregnant three times and it still blows my mind! My approach to lifestyle maternity photos is simple – be yourself, as natural as you are in your every day, as relaxed as you usually are and let me snap away with my camera. We will meet up or chat before your shoot and we’ll cover all the basics of what to wear and where to take your photos – all you have to do is just trust me and have fun. And if you’re reading these words and are thinking “I really want to document this stage, but I’m not feeling all that great and the only “glow” I feel is caused by my heat-waves!” then you need to know one very simple fact – we are all beautiful, every minute of every day, in every moment, and we all feel like sh*t sometimes…but guess what – you are growing a human (maybe even several humans) and that’s hard work! Document this stage in your life and years from now you will be so happy that you did! One day that tiny baby will be looking at these photos and asking “mama, is that me in your tummy?” and trust me – answering that question is going to be the proudest moment of your life.
Love Stories is all about you and your significant other – no kids, no distractions, just the two of you, together. It is a story of love, and passion, and a connection between two people that is spectacular. I want to capture your joy with each other, your lust and your passion for each other, I want to isolate you and make you forget about the rest of the world and focus on your love for each other. You could be a couple who just got engaged. You could be a couple who wants to capture a late morning spent in bed. You could be a couple who wants to roll around in the sand. You could be a couple who has been apart for months and are seeing each other as if for the first time. You could be a couple who wants to run away and get married on a cliff. Which ever couple you are, I’m your photographer.
Family sessions are all about your family’s story, and about your connection together. My goal is to catch that story and bottle it up, so years from now you can go back and look at your beautiful memories. We can have your session indoors or outdoors, as long as we have some fun! We’ll take a few classic posed shots (to send to grandma and grandpa) and then we’ll get to the real fun – capturing you in your element, not looking straight into the camera, not forcing a smile on your face, not pretending to enjoy yourself. You’ll hug, you’ll run around with the kids, you’ll chill-out on a picnic blanket, you’ll bake cookies and get flour on your noses, you’ll blow bubbles or fly kites – you’ll just have fun, and be yourselves. I am always honored and humbled when people choose me to capture their family moments, and I always feel like I’m witnessing something magical and private that is unique to the family. Let’s go on a photo adventure and make these moments count.
I LOVE birthdays! It doesn’t matter if you’re turning 3 or 30 – a birthday is a day you should be celebrating! As a kid, I used to prepare months in advance for my birthday – which cake I wanted, a detailed list of presents, a detailed list of friends and relatives who were late and now owed me a present! And honestly, as the years passed my enthusiasm for birthdays never faded, and I still make those same lists (and I’m totally shameless about it haha!). I just really believe that being born is the greatest thing that ever happened to us, so why not celebrate it?! My mantra is simple – just throw some balloons at it and snap some shots, it’ll be epic no matter what!
Motherhood is the hardest most incredible experience in the world. Nothing is like it, absolutely nothing. My vision for motherhood sessions is simple – to capture the beauty of being a mother. I dream about mommy & me sessions where mothers and daughters wear flower-crowns and walk through endless fields together. I dream of picnic blankets and little hands hugging their mama and squishing her face with sticky fingers. I dream of mothers taking time to nurse their little ones surrounded by nature. Motherhood is a lifelong journey that needs to be documented.
